The word Reiki is two Japanese words, Rei which means “Universal or spirit” and Ki which is Energy or “life force.”
Reiki is a powerful, non-invasive, deeply relaxing healing technique that may assist with reducing stress, releasing negative blockages and restoring balance to promote healing. It is administered by the “laying on of hands”.
It is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what assists us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stressed, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. Life force is the energy that surrounds us and flows through us all, thus Reiki is referred to as Universal Life Force Energy.
A Reiki practitioner has been attuned through teachings to allow ‘Universal Energy’ to flow through them to whomever is receiving the treatment for whatever is needed for their highest good. Reiki can be given to animals, plants, food in fact anything that is living. It can also be sent as a distant healing for a person that is unable to come for a session through ill health or isolation.
I have been a Reiki practitioner for many years and have witnessed some wonderful results in my own life as well as in the lives of others. I offer personal sessions and I feel very honoured to offer the teachings of Reiki to people wanting to learn such a beautiful tool.
